Local SEO and Google Business Profile
Be one of the first few businesses people see on Google Maps.
When someone nearby searches for what you do, Google shows a map and a handful of businesses. Most people call one of those. This work is about making sure you're in that handful more often, and that your listing makes them want to call.
First month
Getting the listing right
Most of the work and most of the early gains are here.
A careful read of your listing
Category, name, address or service area, hours, phone, website link, services, photos, reviews, duplicates. We read it before touching anything, and we write down what we found.
The right categories
Often the biggest single fix. A wrong primary category can hide you from the searches you care about most.
Services and products, filled in properly
Written the way customers search, not in the words of a brochure.
Real photos
Your premises, your work, your team if they agree. Never stock images, never patient photos.
Reviews, handled properly
Replies to the reviews you already have, and a simple way to ask real customers for new ones. Never bought, never filtered.
Directories cleaned up
Justdial, Practo, IndiaMART or whichever matter in your trade, with the same name, address and phone as Google.
Local pages on your website
A page for each main service, so the listing has something solid to link to and Google has something to understand.
Searches we track, with dates
Five to fifteen searches your customers actually make, checked the same way each time and recorded with the date and location.
Every month after
Keeping it working
- Keeping hours, services and photos current (holidays, new services, new photos)
- Replying to new reviews
- Updates or offers on the listing when there is something worth saying
- Watching for edits Google or the public suggest to your listing
- Directory fixes as they come up
- One improvement shipped every month, logged with the date
- A plain monthly report
Local search usually takes a few months of this to show its full effect. We'll say upfront which searches are realistic for you and which aren't.
Careful by default
What we won't do to your listing
- We never put keywords into your business name. It's against Google's rules and a common reason profiles get suspended.
- We don't change your name, address, category and phone all at once. Big edits can send a profile back to verification, so they go one at a time, with a check in between.
- We never buy reviews, write reviews, or only ask happy customers. It's against Google's rules.
- We don't use virtual offices or fake addresses to appear in another area.
Google suspends listings for some of the tricks that are still sold as "GMB optimisation". A suspended listing can take a long time to come back, and sometimes it does not. We'd rather move a little slower and never put yours at risk.
What we need from you
Your part
- Add our email as a manager on your Business Profile (no password needed).
- Confirm your details in writing once: hours, services, phone, areas you cover.
- Real photos, or a time we can come and take some.
- Someone who answers calls and WhatsApp messages the same day. Better visibility means little if enquiries go unanswered.
Questions
About Google listings
I already have a Google listing. Is it worth fixing?
Usually yes. Many listings we look at were set up once and never touched again. Fixing the category, services and photos and replying to reviews is often the quickest improvement available to a local business.
Can you get us to number one in the map results?
Nobody can promise that honestly. Distance from the person searching matters a lot and nobody controls it. What we can do is make sure you're a strong candidate for every search near you, and show you with dated checks how that is going.
Do we have to give you our Google password?
No. You add our email as a manager on your Business Profile. It takes a minute and you can remove us any time. You stay the owner.
Our listing was suspended. Can you help?
Sometimes. It depends on why. Send us what Google told you and we'll tell you honestly whether it can be fixed and how. We won't try anything that risks making it worse.
We are a service business with no shop. Can we still have a listing?
If you meet customers at their place, Google lets you list a service area and hide your address. If you only work online or over the phone, Google generally does not allow a listing at all. We will tell you which applies to you before you spend anything.
